This policy explains how DailyShock reports, checks and publishes stories. It applies to everything we publish.

Our standards

  • Accuracy: we get the facts right before we publish, not after.
  • Independence: no advertiser, sponsor, party or company decides what we cover or what we say.
  • Fairness: we describe people and positions accurately, and we do not endorse political parties or candidates.
  • Transparency: we show our sources and correct our mistakes in public.

Sourcing

We rely on primary sources wherever possible: official documents and data, court and legislative records, research papers and direct statements. When we rely on reporting by other news organizations, we credit them by name in the article. Our editors keep a record of the sources behind every article.

We do not publish claims we cannot verify. We do not use anonymous sources; if we ever make an exception, we will explain why in the article.

Fact-checking

Before publication, an editor checks names, numbers, dates and quotes against the original sources. Quotes are never invented or altered beyond trimming for length.

Developing stories

Breaking news can change quickly. When a story is still developing, we say so, describe what is confirmed and what is not, and update the article as new facts are verified.

Headlines

Our name is loud, but our headlines must match the story. We do not publish headlines that exaggerate, mislead or promise something the article does not deliver.

Article labels

  • News: what happened, based on verified facts.
  • Analysis: context and explanation of why something matters.
  • Tutorial: practical guides and explainers.
  • Review: our assessment of a product or service.
  • Interview: a conversation with a named person.
  • Opinion: a clearly labeled point of view.

Corrections

If we make a factual error, we correct it as quickly as possible and add a note at the end of the article explaining what changed and when. Minor fixes such as typos may be made without a note. To report an error, use our Contact page.

Sponsored articles are labeled “Sponsored” with the sponsor’s name and are kept separate from our news coverage. Display ads are labeled “Advertisement”. Advertisers do not review or approve our journalism. See Advertise.

Health coverage

Health articles are based on official public health sources, such as the CDC, FDA, NIH and Medicare.gov, and on peer-reviewed research and established news organizations. We cite those sources in every health article and update articles when official guidance changes. Our health content is general information, not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for a doctor, nurse or pharmacist who knows your situation.

Use of AI

We use AI tools to help with research, drafting and editing. Every article is reviewed by a human editor and checked against its cited sources before it is published, and our editorial team is responsible for everything on the site. We do not use AI to invent quotes, sources or data, or to create images presented as photos of real events.

Images

Most images on DailyShock are public-domain or freely licensed photos, many from U.S. government agencies, or illustrative stock images. Unless the article says otherwise, an image is illustrative and is not meant to show the specific people, places or events in the story.

Our health, financial and legal coverage is for general information only and is not professional advice. Talk to a qualified professional about your own situation.

Conflicts of interest

Members of our team do not write about companies or causes in which they have a financial or personal interest without disclosing it in the article.
